Breck started fencing in 2005 at Dark Horse Fencing Club, at the age of 11. He later fenced with Ronin Fencing Foundation and Mechanicsville Fencing Academy for many years, and eventually joined Richmond Fencing Club. Breck earned a C rating in Foil in 2011 and remains a C-rated foilist today.

Breck grew up in Fredericksburg and moved to the Richmond area in 2017, after graduating from the University of Mary Washington in 2016. During his time at UMW, he taught beginner and intermediate foil classes at Dark Horse Fencing Club. Breck currently teaches beginner foil classes at RFC and remains an active competitive fencer.
